Melissa’s new apartment is a photo experience. The stairwell spirals around your mind, taking you on a strange journey, exploring your most intimate dreams and explosive nightmares… or something. Leave your acid at the door, it’s about to get trippy in here.
“The world is a dream, you say, and it’s lovely, sometimes. Sunset. Clouds. Sky.”
“No. The image is a dream. The beauty is real. Can you see the difference?”
― Richard Bach, Illusions
Hi there, I’ll have you know Saturday was a success for the Yeomanseses. My mom was glowing with what looked like pride and smiling with what looked like happiness. As an added bonus I was actually there! The gallery flew me in as a special ‘surprise’. I took some pictures for you but you should actually look forward to my brother’s documentary which he’ll post online soon.. it’s unanimously funny and handsome, just like him. Thank you to everyone who was able to make it, I didn’t formally invite you so I admire your gall.

hey it's a special guest appearance, melissa araujo!

The good news keeps piling on, my interview with Just Another Fashion Magazine was published too. It was another live-action deal, for which I’m super glad because I actually got to meat ;) Lisa Dengler for coffee. She showed me how clickable and linkable and video-rific the mag is, so I STRONGLY urge you to get your money’s worth and download an issue.
Finally, Hard Luxe on video! We shot using a vintage super 8 camera we got off eBay. The hardest part was waiting for the film to come back, which takes almost two weeks to process and then digitize.

Thanks to everyone who came out last night, most of you got to see an advanced screening of my fashion film, the rest of you will have to wait until Saturday. Douglas Reynolds Gallery in Vancouver will be showing CYEOMS as part of a big deal artshow my mom is having. Since my whole family is creative in some way we are collectively fluffing our feathers for all to see.
Here’s the invitation that was sent out a while back.
Well.. not the exact invitation. As you probably can’t tell from my adept photoshop skills, I wasn’t there for the official photo but I was able to imperceptibly add myself in, to maintain the illusion that I have a family.
I’ve been seriously organizing my life, as interesting and fun as it’s been, I found a metaphorical $20 bill in my folders. I completely forgot about this photo shoot I styled last summer. I was waiting for a magazine to pick it up but I think the time limit is up so I won’t get in trouble for showing you. What do you think?
Now I feel silly, I didn’t know Heather was still editing some lovelies when I last posted. This is the other beautiful half of the whole. Perched in a cherry blossom tree, I feel at peace again. I think the storm has finally passed.
